Xenical is to treat people who are overweight or obese. This medicine works by targeting the absorption of dietary fat in your body rather than suppressing your appetite.

Dietary fats are large molecules that need to be broken down before they can be absorbed into the body. They are broken down by enzymes called lipases. That is, lipases play an important role in the digestion of dietary fat. When taken with a meal, Xenical interferes with the activity of these enzymes. This allows about 30% of the fat eaten in the meal to pass through the gut undigested. Therefore, your body cannot store these excess calories as fatty tissue or use them as a source of energy. This helps you to reduce your weight by burning up fat that you are already carrying, maintain your lower weight and minimise any weight regain. Losing even small amounts of weight and keeping it off produces additional health benefits for you, especially when you are at risk for other diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. Xenical can also help to improve risk factors, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and high blood sugar. If these are not treated, they could lead to other diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. Xenical should be taken in conjunction with a well-balanced calorie-controlled diet and other appropriate measures such as exercise.Active Ingredients:Xenical does not contain sucrose, gluten, tartrazine or any other azo dyes. DoctorDude:

Hi everyone,

I have tried a bunch of different things, but I am really concerned about the possibility of this occurring, particularly since I'm an older patient and I've had to stop taking the medication for a month. My doc said she might not prescribe Xenical or other weight loss medications if she could see if it was safe for her. I have tried the Xenical and all the other supplements but the side effects were pretty much the same. She said it would take a year before it would be able to work. I can't stop taking the Xenical but I will try to take it as soon as I can. I will also see if I can get another script for it for a year or so.

Thanks in advance!

Good luck!

DoctorDude: I'll take Xenical. I've been taking it for a year and I'm not quite sure how long it's been working.

I'm just curious if you have any suggestions. Are you considering taking the Xenical or any other weight loss pills (or supplements) that could help you?

Dr.

I am a 65 year old female and I've been taking Xenical for a year. When I was starting it, I used the drug for 3 months. I felt pretty good, but the effect felt like it was gone for a month. I was also taking a low dose of the Xenical, but it was not feeling so good. I felt much better within days but I've been feeling a lot worse. I'm not sure if it's a problem for me or not. The only thing that's working for me is the Xenical and I've heard of people having problems with the Xenical. It's always best to take them on a regular basis, so I feel like they have the right dose but not the wrong dose. I'll take them with a meal or at least on one night. I don't know if I should take it on a regular basis but I'm not sure why it is that I don't feel so good. I've heard people have been suffering with this for months, but I'm not sure why. I've been feeling a lot better since I stopped taking the Xenical for a month. The problem I've been having is that it seems to cause a lot of weight loss so it's not working anymore. I've been noticing some changes but nothing has happened since I started the Xenical.

Thanks so much for the info and sorry for the confusion. I'll definitely consult with my doc again. I'll be doing some research to see if I can get some guidance from him. He's a great guy and he's a good friend of mine.

DoctorDude: It's good to hear that you feel better. I'm a 60 year old male and I've been taking Xenical for a year. I felt very good, but the side effects weren't really noticeable at first. I was also using the diet pill with a high dose of the Xenical, so I was pretty uncomfortable. I just couldn't seem to get it to work as I was getting really angry with the person I was with. It seemed like they were losing weight so I just didn't feel any real improvement. I was also taking a low dose of the Xenical, but I was concerned because I was still feeling quite hungry and I wasn't sure how it worked. I tried the Xenical a couple of times, but it wasn't feeling so good.

I'm really curious if anyone else has experience of side effects from taking weight loss supplements. Thanks so much!

DoctorDude: Thanks so much for the info and sorry for the confusion. I'm a 60 year old female and I've been taking Xenical for a year. I just tried the Xenical again. The issue I was having with it was the side effects but they just didn't seem to be much better than the regular dose. I'm not sure if it's a problem for me or not, but I'm hoping that my doctor can help me.
